Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin ( NGAL )

Neutrophilgelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is a 25KD glucoprotein and a new memberof lipocalin family with a typical β-barrel structure of the family. Based onthe recent research, the function of NGAL protein maybe is to protect andregulate the activity of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and to involve ininflammation and innate immunity reaction. NGAL protein also is a novel irontransporter that mediates a new iron delivery pathway. Acute kidney injury(AKI)is a syndrome characterized by loss of function in a short time ( hours to days)．The scarcity of earlybiomarker for AKI has hindered our ability to launch the therapy for thisdisease．Neutrophilgelatinase-assocliated lipocalin( NGAL ) is a high efficient clinical biomarkerfor AKI. At present , Cystatin C is widely used for AKI clinical diagnosis.However, compared to Cystatin C , NGAL diagnosis value for AKI is much higher .

TheNGAL provided by our company is the recombinant human protein，withhigh immunogenicity. it is not only used to immune animal for producing anti-NGALantibody, which can be used as the core material for the NGAL diagonosis kit,but also can be used as a quality control standard or positive control test.
